1) Sun Jar è una lampada che sfrutta l’energia solare per illuminare, grazie ad un sistema composto da un pannello solare, una batteria, e un sistema a led. Nessun cavo. E’ sufficiente esporre il barattolo durante il giorno alla luce e la batteria all’interno della lampada si caricherà. Quelle che volano attorno ad alla struttura di sottile acciaio sono bellissime farfalle blu, piccole celle solari al cesio che assorbono luce per alimentare la propria illuminazione. Una lampada “autosufficiente” e bellissima, che fa parte della mostra The Curious Image presso la Galleria Blain|Southern e realizzata dallo studio di design Demakersvan.
Una meraviglia di ingegneria elettrica, arte e design, la “Virtue of Blue” è un pezzo di arte ecologica, un lavoro splendido che dà dimostrazione del potere della natura e della sostenibilità.

GreenPeace lancia un appello a Mark Zuckerberg, il fondatore di Facebook, con una campagna virale: “Unfriend coal”. Con un video davvero efficace l’associazione ambientalista internazionale chiede a Facebook di abbandonare il carbone, come fonte di energia elettrica per l’alimentazione dei propri server, invitando Zuckerberg a a scegliere fonti energetiche rinnovabili e pulite. Una provocazione certo, ma anche una possibilità unica di dare l’esempio.
